Education

The future of our state is in the hands of those who follow us.

Education

"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life."

Schools are more than classrooms. That means we need to focus our energy and resources in helpful and meaningful ways. That starts with wisdom and understanding. It is my first priority to pave a better future.

  • Opportunity is found everywhere: It is not enough to say the best path for a career is the most expensive. I will focus on giving more options than a four year degree. By allowing high schoolers to take classes from trade schools, students can graduate with a diploma, license, and or training to join the workforce right out of education. We can bridge the gap between open jobs and skilled workers. It is our duty, Wisconsin, to help direct students to great opportunities.

  • Skills for life: Education can be an opportunity to teach children the necessities of citizenship and social living. I will focus on reimplementing shop classes across Wisconsin; as well as courses about computer science, finances, taxes, citizenship, and government. I believe it is important to offer these courses to students that are going to be a productive part of society.

  • Build community participation: The school system should not and can not exist without parents and a community. As a leader it is my goal to do my best in encouraging others to participate and make a change with me. Whether it be helping others understand what they can do to further the schooling of children or it be more transparency between the responsibilities of the school and the parents; it takes a village to raise a child.

  • Parents, schools, and community: Education doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Right now, I believe that education needs help; and it starts not from the Madison offices, but rather in the towns, cities, and municipalities. Let us join forces to create a brighter future together.
